Forest Cover and Views

The property used to be covered in native cedar, but large parts of it were cleared a few decades ago. Much of it is now covered in small alders. The goal of forest management will be to restore a native evergreen forest cover with high quality species (dark green areas). Placement of trees and forest cover will also serve to create privacy and frame views (red arrows).

Buffer Zones

No building in buffer zones around streams and wetlands. This greatly limits potential building sites. Fortunately, on 50 ac, we still have enough space remaining. On smaller sites, finding a good location for a home, septic, well, and driveway can be difficult.
